Emergency Training

In Queensland the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008 (QBFSR) are prescriptive with regards to fire or hazardous materials incidents within facilities in Queensland. The State government and the Queensland Fire & Rescue Service have detailed requirements with regards to emergency planning, training and documentation requirements to ensure compliant and effective evacuation and first response procedures during a fire or hazardous materials emergency.

Within Queensland any non-compliance with regards to the provisions of the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008 will attract monetary and legal penalties if not rectified in a timely fashion.

The Planning Compliance Package in Queensland consists in part of the following mandatory documents to meet national and state legislation: remembering that the Queensland fire safety legislation is more prescriptive than other states and territories within Australia.
  1.  Fire and Evacuation Plan
  2.  Evacuation Co-ordination Procedures
  3. Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP)
Each of these components is a requirement of the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulations and is managed by Fire Safety Compliance (QLD). On completion of the annual program, Fire Safety Compliance (QLD) issues facility management a Certificate of Compliance to the requirements of the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulations.
